E-commerce giant Flipkart ties up with Hero Cycles

Launches three new variants exclusively

E-commerce giant Flipkart on Tuesday announced the launch of three new models of Hero Cycles. The company aims to attract young working professionals and fitness enthusiasts, with its three new models — Hero Mega Star 26” (18-speed), Studd 26T (18-speed) and Studd 26T (single-speed), it said in a statement.

The Mega Star is priced at Rs 8,999 the Studd 18-speed at Rs 8,555, while the single-speed version would cost Rs 6,350. 

Commenting on this partnership, Rishi Vasudev, vice-president - fashion, Flipkart, said: “Cycling in India is gaining importance once again across metros and Tier-I and -II cities. We have witnessed a renewed interest for cycles amongst our customers. We are excited to partner with Hero Cycles to introduce three new exclusive models under our sports segment. This partnership will help us cater to the eco-friendly and health conscious shoppers on our platform.”
 

Rohit Sharma, chief communication officer, Hero Cycles, said: “With the rapid rate of urbanisation, cycling is being seen as a potential and sustainable solution to offset the impacts of increasing environmental and health-related concerns across the country.
