Global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services, Ernst & Young, on Monday announced adoption of ‘EY’ as its global brand and named Mark Weinberger as the global chairman and chief executive.

Weinberger replaces Jim Turley, who led the company for 12 years. Weinberger, 51, was the assistant secretary of the US Treasury (Tax Policy) under former president George W. Bush and was appointed to the US Social Security Advisory Board under former president Bill Clinton.

Weinberger said India “has consistently been a key market for EY and we see enormous growth potential with an increasing number of organisations requiring our services”.

On the new brand name, he said: “Shortening our name will provide consistency and ease of use for EY practices and clients around the world.” The company unleashed ‘Building a Better Working World’ as the motto of the organisation.
