GoAir, which is preparing for its initial public offer, will receive its first Airbus A320neo aircraft this week.

GoAir's A320neo planes will have 186 seats while its existing fleet of A320s has 180 seats. Rival IndiGo has opted for 180 seats for its A320neo planes.

GoAir has 72 A320neo on order and additional six seats on each aircraft will be equal to seating capacity on two aircraft. The additional seats will also bring better cost efficiency, sources said.

A team of GoAir engineers and inflight service team is currently in Toulouse to take the delivery of the aircraft. It is expected to induct 8 planes this year some of which will be replacements. GoAir has a fleet of 19 A320 planes at present.

Meanwhile according to television report GoAir is likely to file draft red herring prospectus for its IPO in Q3 FY 17. The IPO is likely raise to Rs 1,000-1200 crore with promoters diluting 24% stake in the airline, the report said.  A GoAir spokesperson declined comment.
