Godrej eyes Rs 40 cr sales during Onam

Godrej Appliances, the home appliances division of Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Ltd, has targeted a sales turnover of Rs 1,000 crore in the current fiscal, said George Menezes, COO and Kamal Nandi, vice-president, sales and marketing of the company.
 
The company has already achieved a total sale of Rs 290 crore during the April"�June period of the current year, up 46 per cent than the same period last year.
 
Addressing a press conference here in connection with the Onam sales campaign, Menezes said that two new production lines at Mohali and Pune would be commissioned by the end of current year in order to reach out to more markets especially in the northern and western parts of India. The company is investing Rs 50 crore in each plant.
 
The company that had re-activated its Eon range of products in Kerala has targeted Rs 75 crore sale from the state during the current fiscal. "We have planned to achieve Rs 40 crore sale during the Onam special offer campaign that starts from August 5 and ends by September 12," said Nandi.
 
Kerala registered a 61 percent growth in the sale of air conditioners during the January"�June period while the refrigerator segment has grown by 35 per cent.
 
The company has introduced a colour series for Eon refrigerators and also launched A-Cs with I-sense technology. He added that Godrej will soon introduce washing machines and home theatre systems under the Eon brand.
