The ministry of information and broadcasting has confirmed that it has sent a show-cause notice to Bharti Telemedia, Delhi-based Bharti group's direct-to-home (DTH) TV broadcasting company, asking it why it should not suspend its licence for not complying with foreign direct investment (FDI) norms and breaking cross-media ownership regulations.

</p><p class='TableClas'>In its notice, the ministry said Bharti Telemedia did not take mandatory approval from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) though the company indirectly has foreign investment.
