HCL to establish 100 centres

HCL Infosystems on Friday said it would set up 100 Career Development Centres (CDCs) across India in the next 12 to 15 months to train students in the field of IT. "These students will be able to take on enterprise wide IT deployment and integrated assignments from the day they pass out without the need for any further training by their prospective employers," S T M Eshwar, Associate Vice-president (technical support and services), told reporters here.
The courses are designed keeping in mind the specific needs of modern day organisations, he said.
There are already 20 centres operating in seven cities and the company plans to set up similar centres in India as well as in certain overseas locations, he said.
Of the proposed 100 centres, 20 would be the company's own branch centres while the others would operate under franchise agreements.
HCL has ambitious plans to bring out at least 50,000 well trained and skilled IT professionals over a three year period and also ensure suitable placement opportunities to the successful candidates, he said.
