Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.

On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
Godrej Properties' total Income grew to Rs 1,638 crore in April-June period of this fiscal, from Rs 1,315 crore in the year-ago period.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.

Vedanta Ltd on Wednesday said it has incorporated a wholly-owned company Vedanta Property Platforms Ltd (VPPL) to foray into real estate sector.
VPPL will serve as a strategic vehicle for Vedanta's real estate business and related activities.
The move is aimed at monetising surplus land and non-core property assets and creating a dedicated structure for potential joint ventures and asset-light initiatives to fund expansion in its core metals and energy businesses.
In a filing to BSE, the company said VPPL was incorporated in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on June 22.
The subsidiary will serve as a strategic platform for undertaking real estate business and ancillary activities. It has an authorised capital of Rs 1 lakh, comprising 1 lakh equity shares of Rs 1 each. Its subscribed capital also stands at Rs 1 lakh.
Vedanta has subscribed to 100 per cent of the equity share capital of the company through a cash consideration of Rs 1 lakh, making VPPL a wholly-owned arm.

QOSMIC, a Bengaluru-based deep-tech company building optical communication infrastructure for space, said on Wednesday that it raised USD 3.33 million in a seed funding round.
The funding will accelerate the company's work to build the data layer of the space economy, the network that carries information between satellites, orbital data centres, and the ground network.
In a statement, Shreyaans Jain, co-founder and CEO of the company, said, "The next decade of the space economy will be defined by data. Satellites are becoming exponentially more capable, but the infrastructure connecting them to Earth has not kept pace."

The transaction volumes of the BHIM Payments App more than tripled between June 2025 and May 2026, according to NPCI BHIM Services Limited.
Monthly transaction volumes on the app, developed by NPCI BHIM Services Limited, rose from 79.64 million in June 2025 to 244 million in May 2026, a release said on Wednesday.

The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday alleged that gold refining and jewellery manufacturing company Rajesh Exports' key business indicators showed "significant" departures from normal commercial practices, in addition to the non-availability of records related to foreign transactions.
The federal agency issued a statement after conducting searches against the Bengaluru-based company and persons linked to it on June 23 for suspected contravention of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
The ED identified at least five issues against Rajesh Exports Ltd (REL) and recovered various "incriminating" documents and digital devices during the searches.
The company has not yet responded to a PTI query regarding the ED action. The stock exchanges have also sought clarification from the company.

The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday sought a clarification from gold jewellery firm Rajesh Exports Ltd over reports of searches conducted by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) at multiple locations linked to the Bengaluru-based company.
The exchange's query came a day after the central agency searched nine premises connected to the firm under the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
"The reply is awaited," Rajesh Exports said in a regulatory filing.
The development marks a fresh escalation in the legal troubles surrounding the company, which is already facing allegations of a massive financial fraud levelled by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi).
Rajesh Mehta, the company's Founder and Chairman, recently denied any fund diversion or wrongdoing in an interview with PTI. He said the firm would fully cooperate with the fresh forensic audit ordered by Sebi and would not challenge the market regulator's interim order against it.
