Katti-Ma logistics park by 2011-end

Katti-Ma group, a granite-exporting firm from Chennai, is planning to commission its logistics park at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, before the end of 2011. The company is investing Rs 50 crore including the cost of land acquisition for the park and is in talks with two domestic logistics firms for tie-up to commence operation, said G Kalyan Kumar, executive director, Katti-Ma group.
"We have acquired the land at Sriperumbudur, which is a hub of automobile industry. We are in talks with a couple of large scale logistic firms to lease the space," said Kumar. The park is coming up in a total area of eight acre and a built up area of 200,000 sft with options for scale up. The company, which launched its first hotel in Chennai in collaboration with Berggruen Hotels, is also planning to set up two more hotels with an investment of Rs 20 crore, in next two to three years. It has established 30 rooms through the first hotel and expects to increase the number to 200 rooms in three years.
