Kohler sets up Rs 60-cr plant in Gujarat

A faucet manufacturing plant of the 137-year-old, US-based Kohler Company was inaugurated at Jhagadia in Bharuch district today by company president David Kohler.
The plant set up with an investment of Rs 60 crore will manufacture a range of kitchen and bathroom faucets.
The facility has been set up over 25 acres of land. The company owns over 200 acres of land at Jhagadiya with a ceramic ware plant located next to the faucets manufacturing plant over an area of 90 acres, leaving ample room for further expansion.
Kohler said, "We have various plans of expanding and creating new facilities in Jhagadiya in future. However, I will not disclose them now."
"We preferred to make investments in Gujarat after taking into consideration several factors like availability of skilled work force, ample water, 24x7 hours of power supply, environment and various logistic support which was not available in Tamilnadu and other states of the country," he added.
Kohler Company has so far invested $100 million in India.
Kohler launched it range of bathroom products including toilets, lavatories, faucets, bath tubs, whirlpools and showers in India in May, 2006, with its business headquarters based in Gurgaon, Haryana.
