The new age human resource managers should be tech savvy, have an inclusive agenda, create entrepreneurial spirit in the organisation and last but not the least innovation and global aspiration, said R Chandrasekaran, Vice Chairman, Cognizant & Chairman, NASSCOM.
In his address at the Madras Management Association Award function today at Chennai he said things are changing and one can't expect people to lock into the office for eight hours.
He added performance management need to be rewritten and rewards should be instant.

"You (managers) should start trusting employees, liberate them by letting them to work from where they want," he said.
"India's wealth is in the bottom of the pyramid. MNCs understood this well and a classic example is HUL," he said.
New age managers should consciously develop strategy to cater the bottom of pyramid and need to be competitive in terms of cost, he added.
Creating entrepreneurial skill is important in the organisation and the manager should focus on this, he said adding that latitude and freedom to employees is the key. Nurturing innovation and let employees be on their own, said Chandrasekaran, who said Cognizant consists of many "micro Cognizants".
"An $8 billion start-up we are (Cognizant)", said Chandrasekaran, whose companies now employees around 1.8 lakh people.
