The Malaysia-based LeRoy International, a nutritional products marketing company, has announced its foray into the Indian market. It will launch three of its five products by the end of April this year.

"We have approached the Union ministry of health to get our products certified for use in the Indian market. Once the approvals are in place, we will launch our products here," said Edward Khoo, CEO, LeRoy International, Malaysia.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that the company, in the first phase, will launch three products "" 3R Flex (nutritional drink as a food supplement that helps in strengthening bones and joints), 3R Bio Chlorella (blood cleanser and detoxifier that neutralises body acidity) and 3R Viki Prune (a prune extract that helps in deals with constipation, irregular menstruation among other problems).

Quoting a survey conducted by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in India in 2004, Khoo said, "There is a need for life science dietary products to cope with the changes in lifestyle. LeRoy believes that its innovative products can fill the gap to help improve lifestyle, especially helping with easier movement of bones and joints."

LeRoy has been providing solutions for bone and joint problems in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Europe, Indonesia, Brunei, New Zealand and the United States. The company, which registered $25 million revenues in 2005, aims to achieve $140 million revenues in 2006 across all markets. In India, the company will invest $1.5 million to set up its marketing offices, appoint stockists and distributors this year.
