MARG profit after tax at Rs 11 crore

Chennai: MARG, an infrastructure development company, has reported a 61 per cent increased in net profit after tax at Rs 10.62 crore during the second ended September 30, 2008 as compared to the same period last year. Income rose by 85 per cent to Rs 90.88 crore.

Astra Microwave net up 52 per cent

Astra Microwave Products, a city-based company engaged in the manufacturing of microwave components and sub-systems for wireless communications, reported a net profit of Rs 2.82 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2008, an increase of 51.61 per cent. It posted a net profit of Rs 1.86 crore during the same period a year ago.

 

Net sales from operations soared 114.14 per cent to Rs 28.61 crore as against Rs 13.36 crore. "The rise in sales and profit was primarily on the back of supply of sub-systems for radars, electronic warfare systems, Isro’s Radar Imaging Satellite (RISAT) programme and exports," Managing Director B Malla Reddy said.

The company currently has orders worth Rs 95 crore to be executed during the current financial year.
