Total income, however, grew 45 per cent to touch Rs 437.71 crore during the quarter, as against Rs 301.84 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Its basic EPS stood at Rs 0.16, compared with Rs 0.17 in the corresponding quarter last year while paid-up equity share capital remained at Rs 427.9 crore during the quarter.
"The marginal decline in profitability was based on the production, which usually remains low in the first quarter," Ramakant, company secretary, Nagarjuna Fertilisers, said.
