NTPC Q2 net up 10 per cent

State-run power generator NTPC today said its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30 grew by 9.60 per cent to Rs 2,110.51 crore, from the corresponding period a year ago. Total income rose by 18.94 per cent to Rs 10,406.21 crore for the quarter under review, NTPC said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

For six months ended September 30, NTPC reported a net profit of Rs 3,837.04 crore, a 10.67 per cent decline over the year-ago period. The company’s net sales rose to Rs 19,200.89 crore in the first-half of the current financial year, from Rs 16,975.67 crore in the year-ago period. NTPC was trading at Rs 128.50, down 10.08 per cent on the BSE.
