Pyramid Saimira Q2 net dips 42%

Entertainment firm Pyramid Saimira Theatre today said its net profit fell 42.42 per cent to Rs 8.70 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, compared to a net profit of Rs 15.11 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Income from film-exhibition rose to Rs 184.11 crore for the quarter from Rs 102.96 crore during the same period last year. The income from food and beverages rose to Rs 68.14 crore from Rs 41.22 crore in Q2 of FY08.

For the six months ended September 30, the firm posted a net profit of Rs 22.20 crore, against Rs 31.12 crore for the same period last year. Shares of the company were trading at Rs 44.45, up 3.73 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
