REVL, Rel Energy merger likely by July 17

Reliance Energy Ventures (REVL) today announced that the High Court of Bombay has directed the convening of a meeting of shareholders of the company and Reliance Energy (REL) on April 26, 2006 to approve the scheme of amalgamation of the company with REL.

According to a release issued by REVL to the BSE today, the record date for the merger would be the week beginning July 10, 2006, and the allotment and listing of shares of the resulting company would be the week beginning July 17, 2006.

Reliance Capital Ventures (RCAPVL), in a similar announcement, said the High Court of Bombay has directed the convening of a meeting of shareholders of the company and Reliance Capital (RCL) on April 26, 2006 to approve the scheme of amalgamation of the company with RCL.

"The record date for the merger would be the week beginning July 10, 2006, and the allotment and listing of shares of the resulting company would be the week beginning July 17, 2006," the release added.
