SAIL Q4 net up slightly at Rs 1,577 cr
The total income increased 11% to Rs 13,907 cr

State-owned steelmaker SAIL reported a marginal increase in net profit at Rs 1,577 crore for the quarter ended March 2012. It was Rs 1,531 crore in the same period a year ago.
The total income increased 11% to Rs 13,907 crore from Rs 12,555 crore in January-March 2011.
For the fiscal year ended March 2012, SAIL's net profit fell 28% to Rs 3,543 crore as against Rs 4,905 crore in the previous fiscal.
However, the total income was up 7% at Rs 47,897 crore while it was Rs 44,748 crore in the fiscal year ended March 2011.
The board of directors recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.80 per share, in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 1.20 per share already paid, for the financial year 2011-12, thus taking the total dividend to Rs 2 per share of face value of Rs 10 per share.
The scrip was trading 0.8% down at Rs 92 on BSE at 1530 hours.
