Sugar & Spice plans 20 shops

Sugar and Spice (S&S), the Rs 30 crore fast-growing local food and confectionery retail chain, will expand further by the end of this year.
 
At a seminar on 'Best manufacturing practices in small and medium enterprises' held in Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the company announced its plans to open 20 more retail outlets by the next year.
 
Currently it has 160 outlets.
 
Tapan Hazra of the company mentioned that an approximate amount of Rs 6 lakh will be spent for opening each outlet.
 
Sales growth was expected to be in the region of 25-30 per cent. The company would be expanding its export market to Nepal and Bangladesh.
 
It has been exporting to Bhutan only at present. The total turnover earned from exports last year was around Rs 11 lakh.
