Tata Chemicals revives Bengal expansion project

Indicating that Bengal is still on the Tata Group's radar even after the controversial exit of Tata Motors from Singur, a group company Tata Chemicals today said it had revived the fertiliser expansion project at Haldia.
"We have revived the expansion project for single super phosphate production capacity at the Haldia plant. The project can cost ~40 crore and that would capacity," Tata Chemicals ED & CFO, P K Ghose said. He was in the city to celebrate platinum jubilee of the company at Haldia factory and launch of Tata Swach RO water purifier. The decision to revive the project came after partial lifting of the pollution ban at Haldia by the Centre, Haldia plant VP S. Nandy said.
