Tata Coffee Q4 net profit jumps 70%

Operating profit was up 131.76 per cent to Rs 32.61 crore (Rs 14.07 crore). Operating profit before exceptional items was up 59.68 per cent at Rs 38.74 crore (Rs 24.26 crore).

Revenues grew by 40.30 per cent at Rs 109.68 crore (Rs 78.17 crore). For the full year ended March 2008, net profit remained flat at Rs 39.48 crore. Total revenues were Rs 983.17 crore, up 31 per cent over the previous year.

 

Its board has recommended a dividend of Rs 7 per share of Rs 10 each aggregating to Rs 13.07 crore.

According M H Ashraf, managing director, Tata Coffee, "The company in the fourth quarter benefited mainly by higher volume of instant coffee sales and higher coffee realisations."
