Three-day apparel expo from March 27

Finesse Worldwide Expositions, in association with a host of other government and semi-government textile bodies, is organising a three-day apparel exhibition, Intex 2007, from March 27 at the NSE grounds in Mumbai.
Intex is expected to be a sourcing hub for apparel exporters, domestic fashion brands, international fashion labels, large format retail manufacturers, textile mills, fabric importers, traders, industry consultants, design studios and fashion designers. Traders from 10 countries are expected to participate in the expo, while delegates from about 35 countries are likely to visit.
Intex is a global platform in South Asia for manufacturers of apparel to source fabrics and accessories for every season. The event is held bi-annually, for spring-summer collections in March in Mumbai and for the autumn/winter collections in September in New Delhi.
With over 50 per cent exhibitors coming from Taiwan, China, Korea, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Thailand, Intex would offer an array of new and innovative products for buyers to choose from. The timing of the expo is also appropriate as buyers flow to sourcing fairs in Asia during that period.
Rahul Mehta, president of Clothing Manufacturers' Association of India (CMAI), said, "Intex would serve to strengthen the textile supply chain and provide a robust business platform for interaction between manufacturers and suppliers of apparel fabrics, trimmings, embellishments and services with a cross-section of high profile buyers from India, South Asia and other parts of the world. Intex will also be a forum to explore prospective collaborations, alliances and joint ventures."
According to Rajesh Bhagat, director, Finesse Worldwide, organisers of Intex, "It is time the Indian exhibitions are also organised on par with their foreign counterparts."
That is why we have added many innovative features such as exclusive buyers lounge, conference rooms, buyer booths, enhanced onsite facilities to ensure that everyone is successful at this fair."
Other associated government and semi-government bodies include Clothing Manufacturers' Association of India (CMAI).
INtex is supported by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industries, The Synthetic and Rayon Export Promotion Council, The Cotton Textile Export Promotion Council, The Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council, Federation of All India Textile Manufacturers Association with the Textiles Committee as 'Knowledge Partner'.
