Timken to expand network

Timken India Limited "" a manufacturer of bearings for the automotive, industrial and other sectors - has planned an effort to get closer to customers by opening sales and support offices in important manufacturing centres in the country.

The company opened its first such office in Pune on Monday to offer engineering and sales support primarily to the fast-expanding markets in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Goa.

"Many original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are setting up facilities in and around Pune and the region, and we will work closely with these OEMs to collaborate with them in application engineering for bearings," David White, director of sales and marketing for Timken India said.
