TVS Motor FY06 two-wheeler sales up 15%

TVS Motor Company reported a 15 per cent increase in two-wheeler sales at 13.42 lakh vehicles in 2005-06 as compared to 11.67 lakh vehicles in the previous fiscal.
 
An official press release said that the company registered a 19 per cent growth in motorcycle sales at 8.6 lakh vehicles in 2005-06 as compared to 6.79 vehicles in the previous year. Its exports rose 64 per cent to 79,733 units in 2005-06 as compared to 48,560 units in the last fiscal.
 
In March 2006, the company's motorcycle sales zoomed 31 per cent to 83,896 units as compared to 64,273 in March 2005. The good demand for motorcycles spurred the sales of its total two-wheeler units in March 2006 to 1,28,857 units as compared to 106,218 units recorded last fiscal, reflecting a growth of 21 per cent.
