Black money probe: SIT to hold first meeting on Monday

The first high-level meeting of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the issue of black money stashed away abroad will be held on Monday.
The meeting, to be chaired by Justice (retd) M B Shah, will be attended by SIT Vice-Chairman Justice (retd) Arijit Pasayat and top officials of 11 high-profile agencies and departments.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on May 27 announced that the central government has constituted a high level Special Investigation Team to unearth the black money stashed in safe havens.
"In light of the directions of the Supreme Court, we have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unearth the black money. It was an important issue for us, and therefore it is a matter of assurance for us," Ravi Shankar Prasad told media.
