LIVE updates: India's total cases mounted to 9,881,284 with 30,254 infections being reported in the last 24 hours. The Covid-19 death toll rose to 143,350 with 391 new fatalities. The country's total Covid-19 active caseload has dropped to below 360,000 (359,819), and comprises just 3.66 per cent of the total infections.

BJP President J P Nadda on Sunday said that he has tested positive for coronavirus, and is isolating at home.

According to the ICMR,15,37,11,833 samples have been tested up to December 12 with 10,14,434 samples being tested on Saturday.
 
World coronavirus update: The global tally of coronavirus cases stands at 72,286,175. While 50,669,277 have recovered, 1,614,614 have died so far. The US, the worst-hit country, has 16,282,753 cases, and 302,696 have died from the disease there. It is followed by India, which has 9,826,031 cases, Brazil (6,836,313), Russia (2,597,711), France (2,351,372).
