Explosion in fuse factory kills five workers in Chhattisgarh

The explosion took place in Navbharat Fuse Compan-about 30 km from the state capital Raipur at around 2.30 am on Friday

Five workers were killed in a powerful explosion that took place in a fuse factory located near the Chhattisgarh state capital in the wee hours of Friday. The explosion took place in Navbharat Fuse Company Limited-about 30 km from the state capital Raipur at around 2.30 am today. The company manufactures a wide range of products that included powder explosive, permitted explosives, cast-booster, PETN and also site mixed bulk emulsion explosives. The company is in the process of establishing a detonator plant.

The village Urla where the plant had been located woke up today morning to the sound of powerful explosion. Before the villagers could understand, the heavy concrete structure crashed. The impact of the explosion could be gauged by the reports that the 1600 square feet structure had turned into debris while many trees had uprooted.
