Kerala no to river linking with TN

Kerala has opposed the inter-linking of state rivers Pampa and Achenkovil with Tamil Nadu's Vaipar, state minister for Water Resources P J Joseph informed the Assembly today.
The National Water Development Agency had made a proposal to link Pampa-Achenkovil rivers with Vaipar as part of river linking scheme under Peninsular component, Joseph said in a written reply.
Kerala has taken a stand that the project was not viable as the expert committee reports (study report of Delhi IIT) had shown that there was no excess water in Pampa and Achenkovil, he said adding 'Kerala has opposed the project'.
