BT Park: US firm to build phases 2, 3

| The US-based Alexandria Inc has won the contract for developing the second and third phase of the upcoming biotech park in Karnataka. |
| To be built on a public-private partnership (PPP) model, the second and the third phase will be developed with an investment of Rs 550 crore. |
| The first phase, which was developed by the Singapore-based Jurong International with an investment of Rs 11 crore, will be ready for inauguration in the next two months. About 100 acres will be developed by Alexandria over the next two years. |
| Alexandria was chosen from 32 builders who bid for the project. Also called the Bangalore Helix, the 106-acre biotechnology park will include two centres of excellence "" an Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology and Centre for Human Genetics. |
| It will also have eight incubaters, conference halls and research facilities. |
