The Diesel Loco Shed of the South East Central Railway (SECR) is on the track of modernisation and expansion to augment the facility to house new generation locos.
The facility is located in Raipur and is the only shed of the SECR with headquarters at Bilaspur. The foundation stone for the diesel shed project in Raipur was laid in February 1993 and it became operational with 10BG (Broad Gauge) locos in May 1995. In March 2008, the loco holding capacity increased to 100 while at present it had been handling 149.
