The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) will come up with draft guidelines for fixation of airport charges by the end of August while that for cargo, ground handling and fuel supply services is likely to be ready in the next two weeks.

"We are in process of finalising the draft guidelines for fixation of charges on airport services. This would be put up for public review and comments by the end of August," Yashwant Bhave, chairman of AERA, said on the sidelines at a seminar here today.

Bhave also said that the guidelines for determination of charges for cargo, ground handling and fuel supply services is almost ready and "would be put up for comments within two weeks on the authority's website".

The authority has already put the draft guidelines on Air Navigation Services tariff determination on its website and has invited comments from the various stakeholders by August 31. Earlier, deadline was for July 14.

AERA, a statutory body, was constituted in 2009 by the government for determining the tariff for the aeronautical services, capital expenditure incurred and timely investment in improvement of airport facilities.

The authority has also been entrusted the job to determine the amount of the User and Airport Development Fees (UDF/ADF) at major airports and the Passengers Service Fee (PSF).
