EC seeks probe into opinion polls sting operation

The Election Commission of India (ECI) plans to write to the Delhi Police Commissioner to probe the truth behind a 'sting' operation that purportedly showed some research agencies as manipulating poll surveys. The ECI avoided going to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as its request would have got stuck in procedural formalities. It believes an investigation by the Delhi Police would be quick.
