ER records 26% increase in earning

Eastern Railway has recorded a 26.14 per cent rise in total earning during April and May, 2012 at Rs 1101.81 crore as against Rs 873.51 crore in the corresponding months of the previous fiscal. It has also surpassed the proportionate target fixed up by Railway Board of Rs 1074.24 crore for these two months.
In the first two months of this fiscal, ER has set a record by carrying 10.606 million tonnes of freight traffic, registering a growth of 14.99 per cent. Thus ER has surpassed the proportionate target set up by Railway Board of 10.32 million tonne.During April and May 2011, ER had carried 9.288 million tonnes of freight traffic.
