Goodyear Wins Appeal Against Double Assessment Of Sales Tax

Goodyear India Ltd won its appeal in the Supreme Court last week challenging the double assessment of sales tax by the Haryana government for the same year. The revenue authorities assessed the company twice as a result of a slew of petitions in the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court and an amendment to the sales tax rules to undo the court rulings.
