Kinfra To Set Up 6 Industry Parks In 3 Years

The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra), which was set up by the state government in 1993 to facilitate development of industrial infrastructure, has drawn up plans to establish six industry-specific parks across Kerala within the next three years.

Emphasising that the six parks would be set up with private sector participation, Kinfra managing director Gopala Pillai said the total project cost estimated for setting up the parks is around Rs 415 crore.

The six proposed projects include two biotech parks, two small industries parks as well as a hitech park and an herbal village. While the Hitech Park and one of the biotech parks would be located at Ernakulam, the other biotech park would be in Thiruvananthapuram. The small industries parks would come up in Thrissur and Pathanamthitta districts and the herbal village would be situated in hilly district of Wayanad, he added.

 

Revealing that construction of the common facility at the biotech park in Thiruvananthapuram would commence in the next week, Pillai said,
