Malaysian Firm To Set Up It Corridor In Jharkhand

The Jharkhand government has issued letter of intent to the Malaysian company - Putrajaya Asia Softech Ltd for concept, design and execution of the $10 billion Super Multimedia Corridor project at Bokaro over 500 acres of land.
The Malaysian multinational will undertake the conceptualisation, preliminary design, construction and implementation of the corridor cum hitech township at Bokaro inviting companies like Microsoft.
After completion of the corridor it will provide direct and indirect employment to 3.5 lakh people. The Malaysian company sources said that the corridor will have multimedia industries, research and development centres, a multimedia university and operational headquarters for the multinationals to direct their worldwide manufacturing and trading activities using multinetworked-media technologies.

The corridor will create a hi-tech education environment housing world-class universities at different fields. Several hundred local and international companies with interest in different fields are expected to generate several lakhs of ancillary jobs, the sources claimed.
The company proposed to invest initially Rs 5,000 crore and for the rest it would generate through venture capital from abroad.
