Police raids stores for banned book on Shivaji

The Mumbai police has raided some book shops in the city including the premises of publishers Oriental Longman.
Nearly 20 copies of controversial book Epic of Shivaji, written by James Lane and Shrikant Bahulkar were confiscated.
The police action came following the state government's ban on the book issued on Monday.
Lane's earlier book-Shivaji, a Hindu King in Islamic India-was banned in 2003.
"Police are investigating the case and those found prima facie guilty would be prosecuted. The state government would soon send a letter requesting the Centre to ban the book in the entire country," said R R Patil, deputy chief minister.
