Pricing body to get dose of industry opinion

The chemicals and fertilisers ministry is planning to revamp the functioning of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority by including industry associations, consumer groups and state governments in an interactive forum within the pharma watchdog.

There is also a proposal, in part B of the pharmaceutical policy, to move from a system of cost-based price control to "self assessment" of drug costs by manufacturers.
