Rajasthan Mining Firm Plans Lignite Power Plants

The amalgamation of Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Ltd (RSMML) with Rajasthan State Minerals Development Corporation Ltd seems to have energised the company. It is planning to set up more lignite-based power plants.

After the amalgamation, the company has become the largest player in the lignite mining. The company has lignite deposits at Giral in Barmer district and at Kasnau and Matasukh in Nagaur district.

The production from Matasukh-Kasnau mines is expected to begin in 2003-04.
