Rajkumar's bronze statue

As a tribute to late Rajkumar, the Bangalore City Corporation (BCC) has decided to instal a bronze statue of the thespian in Bangalore.

Mayor Mumtaz Begum announced this at a condolence meeting held by the corporation where rich tributes were paid to the Kannada film icon.

Responding to the demand by members that the corporation take over the Kanteerava studio "" where the actor's body had been buried "" and develop it, Begum said she would soon submit a proposal to this effect to the government.

The BMP also decided to grant compensation to the families of seven persons killed in police firing and a police constable who died in the attack by the crowd during the violence that erupted in the city after Rajkumar's death.
