SGPC ties up with Cambridge University

The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) has entered into collaboration with the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, wherein five students from institutions run by SGPC, would be shortlisted every year for pursuing their research studies at Cambridge University.
Jathedar Avtar Singh, president, SGPC, said under the scheme the entire expense of students would be shared equally by SGPC and Cambridge University. The collaboration, initially, has been signed for a period 5 years.
Singh added that the student after completing his doctoral studies would have to teach minimum for a period of three years in an SGPC run institution.
Of the 14 applications received by SGPC, only 3 students have been selected as per the selection criterion of University of Cambridge.
