He is one Englishman who has come back to run the tea gardens his forefathers had set up in the north-east of India. After splitting with the B M Khaitan group last year, Philip Magor has now taken charge of his business in India. Last week, he replaced S K Mitra (originally from the Khaitan faction) as chairman of George Williamson (Assam). The appointment has made him the lord and master of his Indian business.(Magor also has interests in the tea business in Kenya.)
