Warangal dist has scope for more industries

| A seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) saw scope for promoting more new industries in Warangal district with the locally available resources. |
| District joint collector Omar Jaleel said the district administration would encourage entrepreneurs promoting rice and husk industries since the demand on that side was evident during the past few years. |
| Responding to a representation by district rice millers association president Mechineni Sampath Rao, the joint collector said the district had got abundant scope for promoting agriculture and allied industries in the coming years. |
| Cotton and ginning merchants welfare association president Sriram Venkateshwarlu said the district was producing enough cotton to establish more industries in the sector. |
| Addressing the seminar, district industries centre general manager Sunder Rao highlighted the details of various concessions offered by the industries department to promote new units in the district. |
| National Institute of Technology (NIT) professor Anjaneyulu spoke of the growing importance of information technology in Warangal and assured the seminar of NIT's full support to the Tech Park being promoted in the Rampur industrial area. |
| The speakers felt that the district had abundant resources and opportunities to promote cement, ceramic and other industries. A resolution, highlighting the need for more industrialisation in the district tabled in the seminar by CITU leaders Prabhakar Reddy and Chukkaiah, was passed unanimously. |
