'Officers' strike unwarranted'

Federal Bank today said the two-day strike (May 19 and 20) by the officers association was unwar-ranted. Federal Bank Officers’ Association has given a call for a nation-wide strike against the dismissal of an officer who is an office bearer of the association. The bank said the officer was dismissed from service for the various irregularities he had committed during his tenure as a branch manager. It said it had conducted the proceedings against him in a fair, free and transparent manner.
