Blanket Tax Scrutiny To Be Stopped

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued instructions to income tax officials to avoid blanket scrutinies. This followed representation by banks that roving enquiries being made by tax officials were affecting their relationship with clients.
Banks want income tax officials to source data on cash transactions of over Rs 10 lakh from the Reserve Bank of India, which receives this information as part of the banks
