IRDA to set guidelines for M&A by March 2009

Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IRDA) will put in place the guidelines for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the insurance sector by March next year, said IRDA Chief.

The regulator may also prescribe Mark-to-Market rules for the entire investment portfolio of insurance companies, said Harinarayan.
