Foreign exchange reserves fell by $ 573.5 million for the week ending August 1 to $ 319.99 billion, shows Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data released Friday. Foreign currency assets, a key component of reserves fell by $1.09 billion to $ 292.69 billion. Gold reserves rose by $ 538.9 million to $ 21.17 billion.
For the week under review, the Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) fell by $15.5 million to $4.42 billion, while India's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund was down $ 5.9 million to $ 1.70 billion.
