SBI opens FI centre at Tadepalli branch

State Bank of India plans to open financial inclusion centres (FIC) in all the 23 districts of the state and appoint business correspondents and business facilitators in every village, said its Hyderabad circle chief general manager, Rakesh Sharma.

Speaking after formally inaugurating the FIC at Tadepalli branch, Sharma said the business correspondents or facilitators would act as the representatives of the bank in their respective villages in opening accounts, lending and other banking activities. The business correspondents or facilitators would be appointed in villages having 2,000 population.

He said the FIC was given 122 villages to be covered in the financial inclusion plan. Of this, the bank has already covered 50 villages.
