US mkts end higher

Stocks rose sharply yesterday as the US markets ended with sharp gains. While Dow Jones moved up 52 points to 10,558, the Nasdaq advanced 17 points to close at 2,088.

Indian ADRs had a mixed outing. While Infosys closed up a notch at $63.80, Wipro remained unchanged at $21.18. Satyam, however, ended marginally lower at $22.

HDFC Bank moved up 2.44% to $42. ICICI Bank and Dr. Reddy's also ended slightly higher at $18.54 and $17.49, respectively. VSNL, however, lost 1.77% to $9.97.
