After toying with a presidential bid several times in the past two decades, real estate giant Donald Trump today finally declared he is in the 2016 US presidential race.
"Our country needs a truly great leader, and we need a truly great leader now. Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again."
Trump, who made the announcement at Trump Tower in New York, said: "Our country is in serious trouble. We don't have victories any more....When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let's say, China in a trade deal? They kill us. I beat China all the time. All the time.
"Our country needs a truly great leader, and we need a truly great leader now. Ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again."
