IIMA pulls up socks after swine-flu case

Two days after a student at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) tested positive for H1N1, the management institute has got its act together to handle the situation.
The atmosphere at the institute, especially in the dormitory where the girl stays, has been a bit tense since Saturday. The girl, who is studying for first year Post Graduate Programme in Management, left for her home in Delhi with her father even as her test results confirmed her as H1N1 positive. Sources on the campus said that the girl had left without seeking permission.
Meanwhile, IIMA is taking all precautionary measures to avoid further complications on campus. "The institute has been in constant touch with the health officials of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). It has put in place all preventive measures recommended by the AMC officials to deal with the situation. The situation is being monitored on an on-going basis and additional measures will be taken if required," a release from the institute stated.
The institute is continuing its academic activities as scheduled, the release further stated.
